  1. Chocolate Chip Cookies A PowerPoint by Alex M.

  2. George Washington never tasted one. Neither did Benjamin Franklin, nor Mark Twain. Unfortunately, they died before the chocolate chip cookie was invented. Thanks to Ruth Wakefield, chocolate chip cookies were invented in 1930 and are available all over America today.

  3. Story #1Wakefield did not plan to invent a cookie that would become the country’s favorite. She was busy with the chores of running the Toll House Inn, located on the toll road between Boston and New Bedford, Massachusetts. While mixing a batch of cookies, Wakefield discovered she was out of baker’s chocolate. As a substitute she broke some semi-sweetened chocolate into small pieces and added them to the dough. She expected the chocolate bits to melt and the dough to absorb them, producing chocolate cookies. When she removed the pan from the oven, Wakefield was surprised. The chocolate had not melted into the dough, and her cookies were not chocolate cookies. Wakefield had accidentally invented the chocolate chipcookie!

  4. Story #2 Ruth Wakefield had been known for her very famous chocolate cookies. When Wakefield arrived at the Toll House Inn one morning she had a desire to create a new recipe for her cookies. She had noticed that she did not have all the ingredients that she needed, so she decided to go to the bakery to get the ingredients. When she arrived at the bakery, she noticed that the baker was now selling little bits of chocolate in a package. When she saw the package she was thinking that could be her new recipe! She finally came to a decision, she bought the bits of chocolate for her new recipe. When she arrived back at the Toll House Inn she started to create her new recipe now that she had all the ingredients. She first started to knead the dough then, she decided to add the chocolate bits to the dough. When Wakefield was finished kneading the dough she put the cookies in the oven. When the cookies were done she took them out and tasted them. They were delicious even
