THE BOOK OF NUMBERS-Gives account of Israelites in the desert.-When they broke camp at Sinai and arrived at Kadesh, God reminded them of his promises.- His promises was their Title for the land as well as victory over enemies.-God’s promise was all Israel needed, to occupy the promised land but instead they took their first wavering step of doubt.-They began to walk by sight instead of by faith. They missed the point

  4. WHAT HAPPENED AT KADESH- Kadesh was East of promised land.-They doubted God’s promises of inheriting the Promised Land.-They never trusted God’s promises.-They demanded for the land to be spied, before they enter.-Moses endorsed their request Dt1:23.-God wanted to teach them a lesson, that why he allowed that to happen

  5. -There were more than 2million Jews anticipating to enter Canaan. -The 12 spies were digital task heavy, it was only Joshua and Caleb were analogue.-It was a rigorous exercise of survey, of travelling 500 miles for 40 days.-The ten spies walked by sight and were discouraged and made people to complain. -People were giants -Cities, high walls and locked gates -They saw themselves as grasshoppers

  6. WHERE ARE JOSHUAS AND CALEBS.-They walked by faith, to them:-They saw the one who is able to conquer every enemy the one who sees the nations of world as grasshoppers Isa.40:22- A faith that can’t be tested can’t be trusted,-God test our faith to make it genuine.-Faith comes by hearing , and hearing by the word of God.

  7. CAN YOU BE COUNTED ON?-Out of 12 only 2 could be counted on God’s promises.- Out of 2 million, only 2 entered promised land, others were wiped out.-Without faith it is impossible to please God. For whatever is not of faith is sin Rom14:23.-Unbelief is serious because it challenges the character of God.- As never before the Church is need of people whom the Lord can depend on.

  8. -We have too much – cafeteria Christianity these days. People with a lot of excuses, no wonder we are losing so Many battles-There is no small service to God, it all matters.-Some ministries are visible, some behind the scene but all are valuables.-Today many Churches, homes etc. are dying because of not walking by faith.-Some people sit on the side-lines, as spectators and the body suffers.

  9. 4 BIBLICAL CONCEPTS OF OUR CALLING1. -YOU ARE CREATED TO SERVE GOD God has created us for life of good deed - Eph. 2:10b -Service to humanity is service to God Before I made you, I chose you – Jer. 1;5 -You were placed on this planet for a Special assignment

  10. 2.-YOU ARE CALLED TO SERVEThe Bible says every Christian is called to Service.-Your call to salvation included your call to service,-Regardless of your career or job you are called to full-time Christian Service.-You were chosen to tell the excellent qualities of God who called – 1 Pet. 2:9-Any time you use your God given abilities to help others, you fulfill your calling.-Every role, given to you is Important

  11. 3.-YOU ARE COMMANDED TO SERVE-Christian service is not optional, It is the heart of Christian life.-Jesus came to serve and give these two verbs should define your life.-Our Christian maturity is for the ministry.-We grow up in order to give out.-The old comparison between the sea of Galilee and Dead sea – in flow and no out flow.
