  2. Justification of Project • Opportunity • Access to IUP-ALS graduate student for 2 yrs • Need • Need to examine MSC’s vision/mission/strategic goals • Need to examine MSC structure • Timing • Organizational effectiveness of MSC has not been assessed since its inception

  3. Purpose of the Project • To ‘Practice what we Preach’ • To address 3 key questions: Who are we? What do we want to do? IDENTITY  How are we organized? STRUCTURE  What are we actually doing? FUNCTION

  4. What is the desired impact? Increased clarity regarding MSC’s strategic goals and structure so that all MSC members recognize their unique roles within MSC and the ways MSC participation can benefit them as individuals and collaborators.

  5. What are the benefits to MSC? • Development of measurement tools which can be made available to others • Success of MSC will be measured • Opportunities for involvement/growth of MSC members • Increased collaboration within MSC • Discovery of the best Consortium structure to maximize collaboration
