  3. Purpose • Informational Draft • Describe the SNMP-based MIB management architecture for MPLS-TP • Point out gaps in the existing MPLS MIBs • This document will NOT define the MIBs or the mib objects • The extensions or the creation of new MIBs will be done in other documents

Structure of the document • Introductory material • Terminology, introduction to SNMP, review of MPLS-TP management functions • Overview of existing MIBs • Covers material in RFC 4221 (Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) Management Overview • Includes recent MIBs on PWE • Includes MIBs that will be needed for optional features

  5. Structure (continued) • Applicability of MPLS MIBs to MPLS-TP • Provides the information on the gaps that need to be filled in existing mibs • Provides information on functionality that will need new mibs to be created • Interfaces • A section that describes how to apply the Interfaces Group to various objects in MPLS-TP

  6. Next Steps • Clean-up and complete the “Overview of Existing Work” section • Review mpls-tp drafts and include any working group drafts in the management space that are missing • Complete the section on how Interfaces are used • Convert to XML format • Become a working group draft
