  1. Part 6: Giving

  2. Purpose of Giving “You shall surely tithe all the produce from what you sow, which comes out of the field every year. You shall eat in the presence of the Lord your God, at the place where He chooses to establish His name, the tithe of your grain, your new wine, your oil, and the firstborn of your herd and your flock, so that you may learn to fear the Lord your God always.”(Deuteronomy 14:22-23) According to these verses we tithe that we might learn what?

  3. Purpose of Giving "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; A good understanding have all those who do His commandments; His praise endures forever" (Psalm 111:10) According to this verse the fear of the Lord is what?

  4. Source of Our Giving “Honor the Lord from your wealth and from the first of all your produce.”(Proverbs 3:9) • We should give from the first of our increase to honor God. • We should give from our creditors and employee’s portion. Tor F

  5. Source of Our Giving • A profit and loss statement best determines the increase in our business. TorFor Maybe • What percentage of my business does God own? 100%

  6. The Tithe • It is a gift of 10%.

  7. The Tithe • Consequences of not tithing "Then I will rebuke the devourer for you, so that it will not destroy the fruits of the ground; nor will your vine in the field cast its grapes, says the Lord of hosts” (Malachi 3:11) God will punish those who don’t tithe. Tor F

  8. The Tithe • Beyond the tithe. If we sow sparingly we will reap sparingly. • Common tithing questions: • To whom do I tithe? • Do I tithe when I’m in debt? • Do I tithe on the gross or the net?

  9. Giving Principle “As thunder follows lightning, giving follows grace.” Randy Alcorn - The Treasure Principle
