Examples of “Tower of Babel” • It was like Babel on the first day of summer camp, with friends who hasn’t seen each other for a year of of reuniting and seemingly all talking at once. • During the time of 9/11, it was Babel when a whole group of people were babbling about their depressing stories and the news press couldn’t understand. • It was like the Tower of Babel when a boy tried to ask his girl out to prom, but due to his nervousness, she couldn’t understand what he was saying.

  7. Story of Cassandra • In Greek mythology, the daughter of Priam, the last king of Troy, and his wife Hecuba. In Homer’s lliad, she is the most beautiful of Priam’s daughter, but not a prophetess. 8. Present day meaning • Today a Cassandra means someone who predicts disasters or negative results, mainly to someone whose predictions are unnoticed.

  9. Examples • I finally stopped asking my friend Cecilia for advice when I had a decision to make. She is such a Cassandra; if I listen to her, I would never take any risks at all because of her constant predictions of doom. • Happy Birthday Cecilia omg your 15 ILY <3 and so does Harry Styles (Bae) Our Imessages tho lol • I can’t stand people who behave like Cassandra because every time someone asks for a second opinion they end up ruining the whole situation. • Jasson is such a Cassandra, by telling me we would have a quiz in 3 days. I didn’t believe him until the teacher himself told us the following day in class.
