  3. Imperator quoque, irā et suspicione commotus, Epaphroditum saepe hortabatur ut Paridem Domitiamque punīret. commotus – moved hortabatur – was urging

  4. difficile erat Epaphroditō Domitiam, uxorem Imperatoris, et Paridem, pantomimum notissimum, aperte accusāre. aperte - openly

  5. auxilium igitur ab eius amicō Salviō petivit.

  6. Epaphroditus, “non modo ego,” inquit, “sed etiam Imperator poenās Paridis Domitiaeque cupit. non modo…sed etiam – not only…but even

  7. si tu me in hāc rē adiuveris, magnum praemium tibi dabitur.” si – if adiuveris – will help

  8. Salvius, rē paulisper cogitatā, tranquille respondit, “confide mihi, amice. tranquille – peacefully confide – trust!

  9. ego tibi rem totam administrabo; insidiae parabuntur. insidiae - traps

  10. Domitia et Paris in insidiās elicientur. ambo capientur et punientur.” elicientur – will be enticed
