  2. Multiple verbs in a sentence J’aimeregarder la télé après les cours. Ma mèredétestepréparer le dîner. Mon pèren’aime pas laisser de pourboire. • In French, when we have multiple verbs in a sentence, what is the rule? • How do you make those sentences negative?

  4. Aller* + infinitif = Futurproche • The action in the sentence is not happening right now. It will happen in the near future. • In English, we can translate this 2 ways: • is going to • will • Since aller* is the conjugated verb, the ne..pas will surround it, NOT l’infinitif!

  5. Mettez au futurproche • I am going to invite my friends. • Mom and Dad are going to give a party. • She is not going to talk on the phone. • We are going to speak French. • Who is going to go to the movies by foot? • Are you going to study with me? • Mireille is going to be 12 years old.

  6. Changez au futurproche • Le garçoncommandeuneboisson. • Les enfantsrigolent. • Monique travaille beaucoup. • Tuasune table libre au restaurant? • On déjeune ensemble. • Je rentreà la maison. • Ilssontà Grenoble cesoir. • Elle ne chante pas.

  7. Quelquesremarques • When you were making your own sentences, you knew that you had: • Subject + conjugated form of aller* + infinitive • When you change present tense sentences to futurproche, you must • Locate the conjugated verb • Add a conjugated form of aller* in front of it • Change the conjugated verb back to it’s infinitive form (re-infinitize it? Un-conjugate it???)
