  3. Background • Held in KCB center, Nairobi • Facilitated by KIT (Anna, Rhiannon, Roel and others) and IIRR (Issac and others) • Nine days (22-30 December 2010) • 43 participants from countries in Europe, Africa, Asia & Middle East, USA & Latin America • Field visit (on Kazuri and Kalimoni)

Process • Introduction about the process • Clarity on concept (gender & value chain), guidelines, approach, structures & role of each participant • Agreeing on book outline (Chapters, sections, cases, boxes, cartoons etc) • Group formation based on sections and then chapters • Sample case studies to follow format • Advisors (section leaders), case writers, author and cartoonists form groups for each section • Sections work together to form chapters • Final approval by the author (Paul)

  5. OUTCOME • Draft book compiled • OGB Ethiopia • Full engagement on case study development (condensed from 13 to 3 page) • Contribution on SNV box (Rahi Honey) • Contribution on Ethiopian organic honey box • Provided ideas on the cartoon (women engagement in beekeeping) • Process, outcome and photos (slideshow) is available in the APF website or www.genderinvaluechains.ning.com
