St Andrew’s University • S5s: Are you interested in applying to a leading university? • Sutton Trust offer a Summer School at St. Andrew’s University for five days (first week of summer holidays), free including accommodation, to learn more about university and the subjects you are most interested in. This looks really good on a UCAS application. • Please see your Guidance teacher for more details.

  4. Badaguish Outdoor Challenge 2019 Badaguish Outdoor Challenge 2019 A fun, 2 day, trail-finding and camping event in the Cairngorms National Park. Are you up for the Challenge? Apprenticeships • There are apprenticeships available at Johnston's of Elgin, Springfield Construction, a butchers in Buckie and apprentice joiner needed for Moray Council. • Please see DYW board outside Mrs Main's new office for more information or ask your Guidance teacher. • Guidance teachers are available for support with application forms, CVs and interview preparation.

Apprenticeships • If you are interested in an apprenticeship in  Site Joinery, Bricklaying, Scaffolding, General Construction Operations, Painting and Decorating or Taping please download a form at https://www.springfield.co.uk/careers/craft_apprenticeships or ask your Guidance teacher for more details. Springfield Construction are a big employer based in Elgin.

  7. Active Schools News • Climbing wall sessions at Speyside High School • This term Active schools has an exciting opportunity open to all Keith Grammar pupils, S1-S6.  Between January and March you can take part in a block of 8 climbing sessions at the Speyside Community Centre’s climbing wall.  A qualified instructor will show you the ropes and Keith Grammar’s own Katy Duncan and Graham Tyldesley will be there to provide extra support.  The sessions are free and you will also get free transport there and back with Katy and Graham accompanying you on the bus journey.  To sign up please contact Katy Duncan.  • The first session is Monday 21st January.  Spaces are limited so be sure to contact Katy asap if you are interested! • Time: 3.45pm-6pm - Dates: Mondays, Jan to March - Place: Speyside Community Centre: transport provided - Cost: free

  8. Young Scot National Entitlement • Do you still look like the photo on your Young Scot National Entitlement Card? Some cards have the photo that was taken of you when you were in P7. Many retailers refuse the card as proof of age on the basis that photographs are out of date. • If you need to update your photo please take a passport type colour photograph to the school office and complete a Photo Upgrade form.

  11. KEITH FC WANT TO START AN UNDER 15s TEAM FOR 2019/20 SEASON. THIS IS FOR BOYS AND GIRLS WHO ARE BORN IN 2005 AND 2006 INTERESTED PARENTS AND PLAYERS ARE INVITED TO COME ALONG TO OUR MEETING ON FRIDAY 18TH JANUARY 2019 AT 7PM AT THE ROYAL HOTEL, KEITH.
