  2. Title Task Process Process Cont. Evaluation Conclusion Teacher Page It's time for a PIZZA PARTY! Today you will have the chance to help me prepare for the all-school pizza party. Don’t forget your math skills! Get ready to dig in, learn and have FUN!! Introduction

Should I buy the ingredients to make the pizza or should I buy the pizza from the Pizza Ranch? This is where you come in! I need you to help me figure out which would be the better deal. Your tasks will include: • Calculating the amount of ingredients needed • Finding the price of each ingredient • Calculating the cost for all ingredients • Calculating the cost for Pizza Ranch pizza Task

Each group will need a: • Recorder- write down all your work and calculations your group makes • Computer Expert- runs the computer • 2 Calculators- calculate problems 2.) The first thing you will need to do is calculate how many larges we will need to feed the whole school. • There are 86 people who will eat • 1 large = 12 pieces • Each person gets 3 pieces 3.) We will be giving the school three different choices: Pepperoni Sweet Swine Taco 4.) For each recipe you will need to convert it to serve 86 people • 1 slice = 1 serving • For the sweet swine exclude the red onions and green bell peppers • For all pizzas do not worry about the crust. We will do that in class together. 5.) Once your conversions are made, make a grocery list of everything you will need. Print the template I have provided for the recorder to write your list on. Add the prices together to get a total. Sam’s Club Net grocer Meijer Ground Beef = $2.00/lb Canadian Bacon= $3.00/lb For extra credit your group can include tax. Remember to do this you must take the total times 7% (.07).  7.) Next you need to calculate the price for buying the larges at the 8.) Finally you need to write down the answer to the question What is cheaper? Homemade pizza or Pizza Ranch pizza? 9.) Put all your names on your journal and hand it in! Process Continued
