  1. Right to Life Memorial Background: • As early as 1997 Fr. Diamond Council expressed a desire to visibly show our support for the Right to Life Movement • Council desire took the form of a Memorial • Didn’t want a typical Tombstone in a Cemetery • Competed two designs (Statue & Tower) • Selected a Statue • Wanted a Visible expression of our Faith and Beliefs • Directly in front of the Church • Circumstances delayed action on the Memorial effort • Pastor change over • Parish and Diocesan Capital Campaigns

Right to Life Memorial Supreme, Jurisdiction of Virginia and many other local and national councils, and Fr Diamond council have all expressed support for Right to Life Memorials What is it: A statue of Our Lady of Providence Located immediately in front of the main entrance of the church It will have a plaque explaining its significance The memorial we propose is significant, contemplative, and sited to express our faith and beliefs

  3. Our Lady of Providence • Cost for a 5' marble statue would be $7950.00 • Includes all freight & delivery • Statues are all custom made so alterations/ modifications are not a problem • Mounting for pedestal

  5. Right to Life Memorial Funding • Memorial will be funded by an advance from the Building Fund of up to $12,000 • The monies will be paid back with fundraising • Contributions to the RTL Memorial including commemorative bricks • Specific events such as the Luau and the Cruise

Right to Life Memorial FundingAlternatives • Bricks • Commemorative Brick Sales • $50 ($25 cost + $25) x 240 = $12,000 • Council Capital Campaign • Council Assessment • ~400 Mbrs x $30.00=$12,000 • Brick seen as the best alternative • Get Three Lines of Text • 16 letters per line (Including Spaces)
