  1. The antecedent of the National Taiwan University was the Taihoku (Taipei) Imperial University founded by the Japanese in 1928. 1936帝大校門 (1936 Main Gate)

  2. The undergraduate program physics was established at National Taiwan University in 1946. The master program was established twenty four years later in 1960 and and the Ph.D. programs set up nine years later 1969. Old Physics Building (Building No.2) on Royal Palm Blvd

  3. The Nuclear Lab Museum In Heritage Hall of Physics at the old Physics Building Also General Physics Labs for freshmen located in the ground floor of Building 2

  4. In 2001, the department moved into a new Condensed Matters Science and Physics Building, which hosts both the Department of Physics and Center of Condensed Matters.

The Departmental makes an effort to cover the main branches of modern physics. We are particularly keen on developing new research field.   14. Novel properties of semiconductor nanocomposites: We have designed and synthesized semiconductor nanocomposites (ZnO/Au, pt, Sn) having a unique property, in which the band gap emission can be greatly enhanced and the defect emission can be suppressed simultaneously. 國立臺灣大學物理學系
