BCA Strategies • Support yearly operational costs with significant fundraising • Upgrade the facilities with potential loan • Increase reoccurring rentals and reduce reliance on one time rentals • Increase membership and community awareness by marketing the value of the BCA and leveraging the power of block captains • Increase capital funding by restructuring to 501C3 leveraging long range strategic committee

NEED Volunteers for Nite @ Races!

BCA StrategyIncrease Marketing & Membership http://www.blackridge-bca.org/ • Membership: • 1976 – Increase $25 (today dollar $104) • 1986 - Highest membership (293) • 2015 – Total membership (197) • 2016 Goal – 300 members, current total 209 members • 2016 includes 48% different members from 2015 • Block Captains highly successful • Other Member Options considered: • Increase Membership Price? • Extend the bi-laws to allow folks to join outside of Blackridge? • HOA Fees Considered • Marketing – Printed Blackboards, Facebook and Email Blasts • Block Captains one of our biggest successes!

BCA StrategyStrategic Committee http://www.blackridge-bca.org/ • Strategic Committee Formed due to Financial Crisis • Researching proposal on change of incorporation structure from 501C4 to 501C3: • Requirements of 501C3: • Advance a charitable purpose • Donate or render gratuitously a substantial portion of services • Benefit a substantial and indefinite class of persons who are legitimate subjects of charity • Relieve the government of some of its burden; and • Operate entirely free from private profit motive. • An option to consider that may help financial

BCA StrategyStrategic Committee http://www.blackridge-bca.org/ • 501C3 Advantages • Eliminates yearly tax burden of $8,000 • Allows all donations to be tax deductible • Opens up the BCA for possible grants • Enables “matching funds” from companies • 501C3 Considerations: • Must be voted upon by the membership • Opens up Blackridge membership and activities beyond current boundaries and oversight • Requires change in bylaws and structure • May require more oversight and rigor from outside agencies • The board will be reviewing this option and presenting a formal proposal to the membership
