TESTPOLICIES & PROCEDURES • ADMISSION TO THE TEST • Candidates will NOT be permitted to take the test if they are NOT carrying their Hall Ticket with Photograph. • No candidate will be allowed inside the testing area/s : • Morning Session : - • Before 09:30 AM on 12th July 2015. • After 10:15 AM on 12th July 2015. • Afternoon Session: - • Before 01:30 PM on 12th July 2015. • After 02:15 PM on 12th July 2015.

TESTPOLICIES & PROCEDURES • Candidates are NOT permitted to carry the following articles into the Testing Rooms: • Dictionaries, reference material etc. • Whiteners • Extra paper, chits, notebooks/pads, textbooks/reference manuals books etc. • All writing instruments other than pencils, pens. • Editing devices, such as spelling or grammar checkers • Graphic organizers • Thesauruses, encyclopedias • Mobile phones, Bluetooth device, pagers, any electronic gadgets etc., • Digital Diaries/ PDA

  16. TESTPOLICIES & PROCEDURES • SEATING ARRANGEMENT • Seating arrangement for BESCOM - CAT 2015 is based on pre-assigned block layout. • Each block consist of 24 candidates only. • C. OMR/QUESTION BOOKLET DISTRIBUTION • There will be 4 Series of Question Booklets in a packet i.e. A , B , C & D. • The question booklet should be distributed, version wise to the candidates. • Under no circumstances candidate sitting side by side or one behind other, must get the Question booklet of same Question paper Series. • Question Booklet/OMR answer sheets will NOT be replaced for any reason EXCEPT printing defect. In case of any printing error in the Question Booklet, a replacement of the same series will be provided from the buffer stock. However, if the same series is not available, then ANY other series of the same booklet will be issued.

TESTPOLICIES & PROCEDURES • Invigilator needs to ensure that the Question paper series given to the candidate needs to be shaded in the OMR and also the same needs to be written in the Invigilator diary. • D. EXIT AFTER TEST • No candidate shall be allowed to exit the examination hall before 12:30 PM for the Morning Session & before 04:30 PM for the Afternoon Session. • Candidates are entitled to take the following only at the end of the test i.e. • The Candidate’s copy of the OMR Sheet • Question booklet • If the original OMR Answer Sheet is taken outside the examination hall, the Candidate/s will be disqualified.

TESTPOLICIES & PROCEDURES • UNFAIR PRACTICES/GROUNDS FOR DISMISSAL • Attempting to take the test for someone else (Impersonation). • Failing to provide acceptable identification when asked for . • Creating disturbance at the test venue . • Giving or receiving unauthorized help. • Using any forbidden / unauthorized testing aids, such as personal computational devices, pagers, cell phones, Bluetooth Devices, Pen drives or any electronic gadgets etc. • Leaving the test centre before 12:30 PM for the morning session & 04:30 PM for the afternoon session. • Refusing to follow instructions/directions of the invigilators etc. • Coming to the Test Centre beyond 10:15 AM for the morning session & 2:15 PM the afternoon session. • Bringing any unapproved material inside the examination hall. • However if any other malpractice, which is not specifically indicated above, is detected, the procedure adopted for any standard test shall be followed.

  19. Roles and Responsibilities Chief Superintendent Make all necessary arrangements for smooth, regular and efficient conduct of the test. Inspects the examination hall or rooms for fair conduct of the test. Keeps all confidential records such as question papers, OMR sheets etc., sealed in the safe joint custody. Arranges and ensures, well in advance, that the required number of invigilators as prescribed, are available to carry out the invigilation process. Is the official timekeeper at the test centre. Appoints Room Superintendents & Invigilators and trains them on the test process. Issues BESCOM - CAT 2015 Photo Identity Tags to all staff involved in the test process. Opens the packet containing the trunk keys received from IIMB/META-i Observer in presence of BESCOM Observer & IIMB/META-i Observer.

  20. Roles and Responsibilities Room Superintendent Supervises & assists the 5 invigilators in the assigned testing area/s only, or as specified by the Chief Superintendent. Ensures that the invigilators adhere to and strictly follow all their roles and responsibilities. Makes an entry of details of absentees and duplicate OMR Sheet/s issued in the respective material release forms. They will verify entries made by invigilators e.g. TAT numbers. Collects the attendance reports from the respective Block Invigilators and hands them over to the Chief Superintendent for final consolidation and authentication.

  21. Roles and Responsibilities Block Invigilator • Manages a block of 24 students each. The prime responsibility of the invigilator is to make sure that, all the block related processes (i.e. Seating arrangements, compiling the block wise pre and post test process) is carried out efficiently. • Ensure that the candidates are seated in the allotted place (in order of sticker label on the table) • Check the candidate Hall ticket, verify the photograph against the candidate present and sign the same. Collect the office copy of the Hall ticket in the envelope provided for the purpose. Note: If the candidate is carrying only one copy of the Hall Ticket, the same is to be collected.

Roles and Responsibilities Block Invigilator • Distribute OMR sheets (in sequence in the order of allotment of TAT numbers and in the order of seating in the block layout) • Open the sealed question booklet packet in presence of candidates in the class room only. Collect signatures of 2 candidates on the envelope. • Distribute the question booklet as per the series displayed on the respective sticker labels. Note: If the candidate is absent leave the OMR sheet and question booklet on the desk. Collect the same after 20 minutes from the start of the test. • Will immediately report any issues that violate the integrity of the test to the Room Superintendent. Contacts the room superintendent for replacement

  23. Roles and Responsibilities Block Invigilator • Reads out aloud the test instructions printed on the question booklet. • Specifically asks the candidates to check the question booklet and OMR for printing errors. • Guides the candidate/s to fill the OMR Answer sheet. Note: Instructs the candidates NOT to enter the Question Booklet No. on the OMR sheet until they have checked the booklet for printing errors. • 11. Signs the OMR answer sheet after checking and verifying that all mandatory fields in the OMR have been filled correctly. • 12. Once the candidate completes the test, the invigilator has to tear the “CANDIDATE COPY” of OMR Answer sheet at the perforation provided on top of OMR answer sheet & handover the same to the candidate.

  24. Instructions to Candidates - OMR Answer Sheet • Only one OMR per candidate would be provided. • Use of only Blue or Black ball pen. • Write Test Admission Ticket (TAT) No. in space provided and shade the appropriate number in respective circle. (Refer to Hall Ticket) • Write the Question Paper Series in the box provided and shade the appropriate alphabet (Refer the Question booklet instruction sheet. If the Series is not shaded the OMR will not be evaluated) • Write the six digit of Question Booklet No in the space provided and shade in the respective circle.

  25. Important Instructions • Do not Staple the OMR Answer sheet. • Candidates need to carry any of the following valid ID proof (PAN Card, Driving Licence, Voter’s ID, Aadhar Card). The invigilator needs to match the face in the photograph with the candidate.

  26. Critical OMR Fields • Name (To be Written only as it appears in the Hall Ticket). • Application No. (To be Written & Darkened). • Question Booklet No. (To be Written & Darkened). • Question Paper Series (To be Written & Darkened). • TAT No. (To be Written & Darkened). • Signature of the Candidate. • * Invigilator’s should check all the above critical fields and then authenticate by signing.

  27. Roles and Responsibilities IIMB/META-i Observer • Observer is appointed by IIMB/META-i. • Serves as administrator of record with BESCOM - CAT 2015. • Ensures compliance with test policies and procedures, though not necessarily acting as on-site supervisor. • Is knowledgeable of all BESCOM - CAT 2015 test policies and processes. • Is informed about all incidents occurring during testing, e.g. irregularities, facilities problems, candidate or staff concerns. • 4 important telephone calls to be made to IIMB/META-i Central Test Hub: • On reaching test centre • On commencement of test • After attendance data is finalized • After the test is completed

  28. Roles of BESCOM Nodal Officer • Responsible for distribution of confidential articles to venue Supervisors. • Actively manages the overall testing program and procedures, though not necessarily acting as on-site supervisor. • Is knowledgeable of all BESCOM CAT-2015 test policies and processes. • Is informed about all incidents occurring during testing, e.g. irregularities, facilities problems, candidate or staff concerns. • Is responsible to see that the said process is adhered to during the phase of the test administration.

  29. BESCOM Test Security Protocol Contact your Chief Superintendent or the BESCOM - CAT 2015 officials immediately, if you have any questions about test security and test administration procedures OR if you believe any part of the test administration process/ procedures are being compromised.
