  1. The Little Girl By Stephanie P.

  2. 3000 years ago in ancient Egypt, there was a women called Akana . She always wanted a child. She wanted a child ever since she got married. But no longer did she have a husband, for he had died 3 years ago. Now she was more lonely than ever.

  3. She tried using little Egyptian dolls in place of a child, but it did not turn out well at all. Every time she would place them at the table to eat, all of the dolls’ heads plopped into the soup. “Poor things”, she thought, to herself, but boy was she sick of it!

  4. One day she went to visit the good witch Bakit. Bakit said to plant this Marigold seed and see what happens. (She had cast a magical spell on the seeds.)

  5. So Akana did. In a few days, she was surprised to see a girl inside the flower about the size of her pinkie.

  6. “I will call you, hhhmm…., aha,Shashai my dear little pharaoh,” said Akana.

  7. Indeed she looked like a little phaorah with golden and brown hair that shined in the daylight. Shashai got everything she ever dreamed of, a pool, a boat made of papyrus, stories at night , and a very comfortable cradle. She was a very special child.

  8. One night, Mnoti the crocodile went to the home of Shashai and saw how pretty she was and thought how she would make a good wife for her son, Mkhai, so she took her away. She took her to the pond which was her home, then she showed Shashai to Mkhai. Mkhai thought Shashai was the best in the world!

  9. They planned to marry the very next day. Shashai was in huge sorrow. But the prince had a plan, he would rescue Shashai at night and take her to where she belonged, and at night he did. Then everyone had a party with the prince, Shashai, and the mother of course.

  10. Everyone loved Shashai at the party. Who wouldn’t? She’s pretty and sweet and is kind to everyone. And they lived happily ever after.
