Vision 2020 - Goals • Build awareness and capacity among Admins, SCs parents, students and teachers regarding nature and needs gifted children. • Continue to improve identification of low income and ELL students and strategies meet their needs. • Every student learns something new every day. • Retain gifted students within the district until graduation.

Vision 2020 - Strategies Year 1 Presentations to Administration Highlight risk factors for Gifted students Administrators share successes and challenges June Teacher Academy Differentiation, Depth and Complexity, Parent needs assessment Parent/community quarterly meetings/classes Higher order thinking - 2ndgrade Problem solving activity prior to CogAT testing ALPS Move toward standards aligned, student directed ALPs, pilot Naviance at secondary

  5. Vision 2020 - Strategies Year 2 Expand HOTS training USTARs at 2nd grade DISCOVER at 1st grade Refine Parent/Community involvement based on feedback Refine/extend June Academy ALPs - Focus on affective needs and goal setting

  6. Vision 2020 - Strategies Year 3 & 4 Refine and extend all initiatives based on • feedback from teachers, parents and administrators • data collected from testing results

Parent Education Proposed Topics Quarterly community education nights to bring all people together for learning opportunities and information. • Advance Learning Plans • Identification processes and assessments • Social/emotional needs • Post-secondary readiness • Enrichment opportunities. • Reception with the GT staff • Opportunities to casually meet one on one or in small groups to discuss different needs or concerns.
