Most important now: I: • Establish groups • create a projectroom in the IS-304; Group Rooms • Decide for a project • discuss with employer, project owner • write project proposal • get approved project proposal within given date. (PS: you probably have to refine a couple of times before approval.)

  4. Most important now II: • Understand basic concepts and theory: • What is quality: • how do you recognize quality? • System development methods: • alternatives, criterie to choose • Quality assurance : • what to do to produce quality?

Responsibility • You are responsible for the project • define the project and its goals • decide for a SD method • project plan and tracking • estimate time and resources on different parts/modules/functions, and track hours used • adjust the plan if necessary ( it will be necessary!) • handle unforeseen situations that will occur

Group cooperation I • have expectation and requirement to one another • the group decides the consequences when work is not delivered on time or with decided quality. • Be professional: • know status, always • find where the project have problems, which module, or which person, and ACT. • begin plan and tracking from week 2

  7. Group cooperation II • Be responsible • everybody have the same responsibility to succeed. • do not accept free-riders • problems / conflicts • in case of a problem bring this up quickly. Avoid a problem to increase. (productivity, quality, personal, work habits, different level of ambition…… ) • The project is managed by the group, NOT by the advisor

  8. Work load • 20 ECTS means 27 hour’s a week • A group of 4: 108 hour’s a week • 20 weeks  2160 hour’s = 1,2 man year
