HIV Transmission Rates in Mother-Child Pairs: An Analysis from 1986-2010

This report examines data on HIV transmission rates among mother-child pairs reported from 1986 to 2010, with a total of 17,080 inclusions analyzed. Of these pairs, 581 children were infected. Questionnaires from 18 sites in IDF and 8 sites in the province were included in the analysis for CO01, while CO11 involved 14 sites in IDF, 25 sites in the province, and overseas pairs. The study, conducted by EPF (ANRS.CO01-CO11) in 2011 at INSERM U1018, found a transmission rate of 1.1% for HIV-1 and 0.6% for HIV-2 between 2001 and 2009. Note that some pairs are hatched and not yet in the database.
