First Generation Program Was created in 2002 by TWC to address Low High School and Post Secondary Education Attainment in certain board areas Increase number of students in Recommended High School Program Increase college preparation, workplace learning, and enrollment in math & science courses Facilitate transition into post secondary

Individual with a Disability TWC created the Disability Program Navigator (DPN) Position to Guide one-stop staff in assisting people with disabilities access and navigate the complex provisions of various programs Develop linkages and collaborate on an on-going basis with employers to facilitate employment Develop partnerships to achieve integrated services, systematic change, and expand the capacity to serve disabled individuals

Individual with a Disability Created an employer resource handbook Created a local mental health resource book – CC website Collaborate with JARC to increase access to communities Collaborate with BUS – train drivers & provide monitors to accommodate disabled riders Sponsored a self sufficiency workshop

Emerging Technology Identify industry/ occupations with emerging technology Inform participants in all programs of emerging technologies Identify educational requirements & skills for new technologies Support math & science projects, Texas Pre-freshman Engineering Program Coordinate with training provider to develop programs that support new technologies

Preparing for Global Competition By increasing labor force education & high technology skills Update community audit & look at trends in targeted industry cluster (emerging technologies) Continue supporting drop out prevention and post secondary transitional programs Continue to target training programs that produce a highly skilled labor force, i.e. AMIST Continue collaborating and partnering with different organizations to leverage limited funds and resources
