  5. Design • Existing building changes • New facilities • Simple improvements • Collaborative efforts

  6. Simple changes can help • Secure perimeter doors • Single staff and separate public entry point • Use bailiffs or guards to escort judges • Use inexpensive combination locks

  7. Funding • Long term plans • Grants both Federal and State (Critical Infrastructure) • Leverage staffing • Surplus property programs

  8. Mitigation • Access, lock systems • Camera / CCTV • Screening equipment • Duress / intrusion alarms • Staffing
