  1. Building an exchange program aroundour Master ProgramQuantum Devices A theoretical and experimental formation of high level on different kinds of quantum phenomena. A special attention is devoted to quantum devices.

  2. Materials and Quantum Phenomena Laboratory Nanomaterials : growth, auto-organization and properties Quantum electronics : from low dimensional systems to the molecule Quantum photonics • Clean room facility • Super high resolution electron microscopy

  3. French University System Batchelor Master PhD 3 years 2 years 3 years M1 M2 Quite general (based on classes) Specialized (classes and internship) See the leaflet with all master programs of the physics departement

  4. Second year of the Master ProgramQuantum Devices Objectives: • To form forefront professional profiles mastering all aspects of modern physics relevant to advanced research and technology, mainly in the area of quantum devices, nanomaterials and nanosystems. • To enable students to design and realise novel devices for advanced micro- and nanotechnology. Opportunities: • Most of the graduated students prepare a PhD thesis in a public or private research center with support or fellowships from various sources (education ministry, enterprises, national agence of research, Regional programs…)

  5. An exemple of International program To create a professional figure having the complementary competences of a modern quantum physicist and a physical engineer Starting in sept. 2010 !

  6. Organisation All courses are given in english First year syllabus in Torino Second year syllabus in Paris (Quantum Devices program) A double Degree • The italian master degree in engineering • ‘Nanotechnologies for ICTs’ • The french master degree in physics • ‘Quantum Devices’ See the leaflet and the web site for details

  7. The unicity of the offer of University Paris Diderot • Dedicated teaching in a top level research environement for classes (<20) formed through a selection process. • Pluridisciplinarity : one of the most important center for study on Asian languages; offer of specialised classes of French for foreign people. • Embedded in the hearth of Paris. • Presence of a community of Chinese speakers and Chinese scholars; proximity with Paris Chinese quarter

  8. The Library: One of the largest university libraries in Paris, overlooking the river Seine 4 poles : Literatures and Arts Social sciences History, Geography, Urban planning Experimental Sciences 200000 books with direct access 9000 periodicals 5500 electronic journals

  9. The Language Resource Center - Self-teaching software in over 25 different languages - 50 dedicated computers - Language assistants - On-line follow-up courses The Cité Universitaire Internationale Accomodation available for students coming in the framework of international programs

  10. A proposal for an exchange program with Taiwan A solution to match the two systems: French students: Internship (3-4 months) in a Taiwan University during the First year of their master in Physics to benefit of the most recent equipments and tools of condensed matter reserch Taiwanese students: validate their PhD credits by attending our master program ‘Quantum Devices’ (approximately 1 year by defining a specific program). The European master diploma is also delivered Internships are possible in the framework of a collaboration between a French and a Taiwanese team

  11. Contacts established sinceour visit in March 2010 NTU University: Prof. Yee Bob Hsiung, Prof. Chi-Te Liang NSYSU University: Prof. Hsiung Chou has supervised the internship of one of our students last summer. September 2010 Quentin Gaimard
