  3. Gobekli Tepe (Potbelly Hill) The site is located in southeastern Turkey. Klaus Schmidt began excavations in 1994.

  4. Gobekli Tepe is older than Stonehenge or the Pyramids. It was a place of animal sacrifice and religious ritual used during the time of the Patriarchs. It has often been described as “the world’s first temple.” “Both the Bible and the archaeological evidence seem to confirm that human beings were inherently religious from the dawn of civilization” – Ben Witherington, BAR, Jan./Feb 2013

  5. Paul Pointed People to the God they Sought • “He made the world and everything in it” and, “He is Lord of heaven and earth” (17:24) • “He gives to all life, breath, and all things” (17:25) • “In Him we live and move and have our being…for we are also His offspring” (17:28) • He “commands all men everywhere to repent, because He has appointed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness”(17:30-31) • He will judge “by the Man whom He has ordained. He has given assurance of this to all by raising Him from the dead.” (17:31b)

  6. Jesus Came so that Men Could Find God • No one comes to the Father, except through Christ (John 14:6). We find God in Christ! • Acts 17:27 indicates that God put us on this earth “in the hope that” we “might grope for Him and find Him.” • Jesus invited His disciples to verify His resurrection by handling Him! (Luke 24:39) • The apostle John declares that the apostles gained fellowship with the Father through handling the Word of life – Jesus! (1 John 1:1-3)

  7. Are you groping for God in your life? “The LORD looks down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there are any who understand, who seek God.” (Psalms 14:2).
