FACT ERANID Statement for the preparation of the work programme 2016/2017 of Horizon 2020: “In the past, the European Commission has made a major contribution to the funding of illicit drugs research, either in FP7 or through dedicated programmes . However, these dedicated programmes have been stopped and the new framework research programme Horizon 2020 has offered until now limited opportunities for research in this field” www.eranid.eu

Possibilities in H2020 SC1 • SC1-PM-04–2016: Networking and optimising the use of population and patient cohorts at EU level • maximizing the exploitation : bringing together national and/or European cohorts taking advantage of new technologies and new type of data • Provide novel information on health maintenance, onset and course of diseases, or population stratification • Provide the evidence base for the development of policy strategies for prevention, early diagnosis, therapies, health economics as well as addressing health inequalities 5 mio €: call opens: 30 September – closes 19 January 2016 www.eranid.eu

Possibilities in H2020 SC1 • SC1-PM-07–2017: Promoting mental health and well-being in the young • Mental and behavioural disorders including addictive behaviour place immense burdens on individuals, families and society • Proposals should develop population-oriented primary prevention interventions • The interventions should build on but may go beyond existing state-of-the art knowledge on biological, psychological and social determinants of mental well-being such as societal, cultural, work life, lifestyle, epidemiological, economic and environmental perspectives. • 2-4 mio/proposal - 20 mio €, call opens 29 July 2016 www.eranid.eu

Possibilities in H2020 • SC1 • SC1-PM-10–2017: Comparing the effectiveness of existing healthcare interventions in the adult population • Proposals should compare the use of currently available preventative or therapeutic (pharmacological as well as non-pharmacological) healthcare interventions in adults • While there is no restriction on the diseases or interventions to be the focus of proposals, preference will be given to proposals focusing on interventions with high public health relevance and socio-economic impact, i.e. interventions addressing conditions that are particularly frequent, may lead to co-morbidities, have a high negative impact on the quality of life of the individual and/or are associated with significant costs or where savings can be achieved. • 4-6 mio/proposal (40 mio foreseen) – call opens 29 July 2016 www.eranid.eu

POSSIBILITIES IN H2020 SC7 (security) SEC-07-FCT-2016-2017: Human Factor for the Prevention, Investigation, andMitigation of criminal and terrorist acts • Within the “European Security Model” (adopted in 2010) which recognizes drug trafficking as a major threat for Europe • Support knowledge for law enforcement agencies (toolkits, common approaches, better understaznding of how threats are perceived by the population…) • Societal dimension at the core of proposals • 3 mio €/proposal – call opens 24 March 2016 www.eranid.eu
