  2. The Author The Author O Henry is not his real name his real Name is William Sidney porter. O Henry was born September 11,1862 and Died June 5,1910. O Henry is known for twist endings in his stories.

  3. How Might the title affect the theme Title might affect the theme because the title “A Retrieved Reformation”. I know retrieved means to get back and reformation means to fix. With that the main character might want to correct something he did wrong.

  4. How Might The Setting affect the theme? This might affect the them because it is a small town. In a small town every body knows each other. The setting might also affect the theme because there is only one sheriff in the town at one time.

  5. How might the main character affect the theme In stories the character changes a lot. In This story the character changes. The main character Ralph changes from a mean bank robber to a nice and sweet guy. This might affect the theme because the theme could be something about people can change.

  6. How does the plot have an effect of the theme. In O. Henry’s books most of his themes are based on the climax there for making his stories there for making it a twist ending. In the story the climax was Ralph pick locks the safe. Which makes everybody have different opinions on him.

  7. The Theme The theme for this selection is Everyone deserves a second chance. The theme is “Everybody deserves a second chance” because towards the end of the story Ralph stays with the girl and uses his lock picking skills to save the girl locked in the safe.
