  1. What is a Gas Spring? Gas springs are one the most commonly used cabinet hardware of modern modular kitchens. They are widely known to optimize the aesthetic value of our cabinetries. One can easily spot their application in the above head wall cabinets (upper cabinets), the car boot, office chairs, canopies, and more. Their popularity in recent years has been so vast that even the number of gas spring manufacturers has been booming around. Gone are the days when one had to run into several hardware stores to find the gas springs for their home remodeling projects (not to mention the best ones). But that’s not the scenario anymore. Today, finding reliable gas spring manufacturers is hardly a matter of a few clicks. All you need to do is visit your web browser and explore the extensive range of options before you. If you are Googling about gas spring manufacturers or what they are, chances are you aren’t an industry expert home flipper and probably know nothing about how the gas spring works. This blog shall help you

  2. understand what a gas spring is and how it works. We shall also discuss their applications and benefits. So, let’s get to it. What is Gas Spring? Popularly known as the gas struts, rams, or dampers, the gas spring is a hydro-pneumatic mechanical device used to lift or lower heavy objects. It facilitates supporting objects that are cumbersome to handle. Although used in a wide range of applications, one can find these gas struts on all kinds of devices including cabinet doors in smart kitchens. These pneumatic support hydraulic gas springs rely on a combination of pressurized gas and oil-based lubricant to raise, lower and support the objects, hence the name. The gas spring manufacturers use a sliding piston and rod to transfer the compressed gas in the spring which happens to be a perfect and smooth way to control objects as they move. Gas Spring Mechanism Now that we know what gas springs are and where they are used, we must also take a peek into how they work. With a large number of gas spring manufacturers, there happens to be a big variety of gas springs available in the market. They might be different in their application and appearances but the basic working of each of them remains somewhat the same. Here’s how they work. So, every gas spring has the following components: ●A piston rod ●A guide ●Seal ●A piston and ●A cylinder The cylinder (a tight-fitting tube) is filled with highly compressed nitrogen gas. With the cylindrical tube being closed with a seal, the gas volume in it remains constant throughout the lifespan of the gas spring. The gas in the cylinder applies equal pressure on both sides of the piston. While the side piston rod has a smaller surface area in comparison to the piston, it creates a pushing force in the cylinder. The push allows an amount of compressed gas to pass around and produce a balanced internal pressure on both sides of the piston. It also creates two sides of varying volume and surface areas. The limited flow of gas within the cylinder adjusts the force required to move the spring in the needed direction i.e., raise, lower or support an object. Benefits of Using Gas Spring Following are the benefits of installing gas springs in our household cabinetries and other applications: 1.Longer shelf life 2.High force range to support super-heavy objects 3.Cost-effectiveness 4.Noise-free 5.An opening angle greater than 90degree 6.Sustainability 7.No external power supply needed to operate
