The Essentials: SAO, UCS, UFB • Student Activities Office: • Faunce 234 • Submit applications/constitutions • Financial matters (only Cat I and Cat II) • UCS – Student Activities Committee: • Officially recognizes groups • Committee meetings: Mondays, Faunce 225 8:00 p.m. • General Body meetings: Wednesdays - Peterutti Lounge 7:30 p.m. • Undergraduate Finance Board (UFB): • Provides funding for Cat II, Cat III • Cat III has a UFB rep

  6. privileges: morning mail • All events must be posted on the University Events Calendar first • http://morningmail.brown.edu/ • After event is put on the University Calendar, you can can create a Morning Mail announcement

  7. privileges: mygroups • Account is automatically created after official group status takes effect • http://mygroups.brown.edu/ • myGroups user guide on SAO website • MUST update primary contact! • Helpful for freshmen looking for groups to join • Students looking to start a similar group may need to contact you

  14. Funding: Cat Iii • UFB rep will contact you when group is approved • Spring Budgeting • Supplemental Funding • Media Services is now FREE!

Life of a Student group: timeline • Late September: Orientation Activities Fair • November: deadline for Fall semester re-categorization • November: re-registration deadline • February: Mid-Year Activities Fair • February: deadline for Spring semester re-categorization • March: spring budgeting
