  1. Stop motion idea

  2. Why I changed my idea. • The smoking was a challenge to my surprise. Finding a place inside I could shoot the group smoking as well as getting the required materials. It also required some shots I might not have the ability to get, for example on top of a roof and in a derelict house. • I also found arranging the actors was hard including travelling and the vast number of actors presented problems. • I am also very fond of Stop motion films and have made others in my own time.

  3. Main idea • Target audience – teens of 16-25 • Stop motion comedy • Using Haribo teddy bears/ Lego men , create a war scene. ( swords and shields ) • Lego men would be easier due to the manoeuvrability and ability to equip weapons. • The commanding generals ( of armies around 5 each ) with have their initial argument causing the war.

  4. The opening scene will be of the 2 generals talking. This will require voice over's which is often hard with stop motion, especially with expressionless faces on the lego men. The 2 generals will start to quarrel and begin a small fight, to which one calls in his army. The other then doing the same and the fighting begins. • This idea leaves lots of room for interesting camera angles with long shots of the whole battle and close ups of the action. • I am intending for a main piece of non-diagetic music to be played over the top of the majority of the fight scene. I will decide which piece at a later date but most probably a well known piece such as the Pirates of the Carribean theme tune, particvularry as some of the lego men look like pirates.

  5. Potential problems • There are alot of potential problems with stop motion. The main ones I can think of being... • No back ground for the lego men. I could film outside but - That is subject to weather and obvious light changes - Everything will be big compared to the lego men • Hard surface to keep the men standing • Light changes inside - A lamp may be required • Battle scenes may require positions that the men can’t substain so blue tack to keep them up ?
