  4. System was developed and regulated in 1962 by Dun & Bradstreet (D&B). Is a unique, non-indicative 9-digit identifier and maintained by D&B that verifies the existence a business entity globally. Is random and the digits have no apparent significance. Data Universal Numbering System
  5. Obtaining a DUNS number is free for all entities doing business with the Federal government. Once assigned, the DUNS number is not reused or reissued to another business entity.   9. This site, developed by the government will combine eight federal procurement systems and the Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance into one system. What is SAM ?
  10. In order to be eligible for grants and other federal financial assistance, sponsors must register as an “entity” with SAM. What is an is an entity? Registering a new entity in SAM
  11. Is a “catch all” term that includes prime contractors, organizations applying for assistance awards, those receiving loans, sole proprietors, corporations, partnerships and any federal government agencies desiring to do business with the government.   20. The Accounts Receivable, Electronic Business and the Government Business Point of Contact are mandatory for all registrations. You may enter an alternative POC. These will help the government know whom to contact for various questions or issues. Complete “Points of Contact”
  21. Upon submission, the “Annual Renewal Date” for registration will be set. Click – “Submit” - to submit your record.
