  3. Understanding N.T. Baptism • A baptism must be comprised of 3 important elements to be “valid” • Failure on any/all of these 3 criteria renders a baptism unacceptable to God…not in harmony with the N.T.

  4. MODE “Mechanics” (how one is baptized) It must be a “burial” Jn 3:22-23 Rom 6:3-4 Col 2:11-12 Eph 2:1-3 4:5

  6. NAME By whose authority? MODE PURPOSE The name of Jesus Christ Jn 14:6 Acts 2:38 Acts 4:12 1 Cor 1:10-15

  10. Deciding At The “Fork” • On a topic as important as baptism, it is shameful many stand at this spot confused…not knowing what to do • “Which way do I go?” • Both ways don’t lead to the same place

  11. Deciding At The “Fork” • Not everyone interested in religion is taught the truth re: baptism • They are taught false aspects (error) to comply with denominational creeds instead of harmonizing with the N.T. Mt 15:1-6

  12. Deciding At The “Fork” • Churches promoting inherited sin (depravity) don’t demand immersion… but claim their “baptism” remits sin & is in the name of Christ (Catholic, Methodist, Lutheran, etc.)

  13. Deciding At The “Fork” • Churches promoting “faith-only” salvation don’t demand baptism’s necessity… but will immerse & claim their baptism is in the name of Christ (Baptist, Nazarene, etc.)

  14. Deciding At The “Fork” • What is the one who stands at the fork and is interested in baptism to do? • The only safe thing to do…he must compare what a church teaches re: baptism to the inspired word of God
