Academy Update – Restructuring • From 1 May - a new structure • New Post - Deputy Chief Executive – Cliff Allen • 2 New Director Posts – Institutions and Networks • Director Institutions to be filled • Dr David Sadler appointed to Director Networks • 3 Assistant Directors – Lawrence Hamburg is one – leading on Flexible Learning (e-Learning)

Academy Update – Senior Associates Six newly appointed Senior Associates • Professor Michael Bradford, Associate Vice-President (Teaching & Learning) at the University of Manchester - Change Academy and academic leadership • Professor Linda Challis, formerly Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic Affairs) - quality management, academic leadership and Change Academy. • Professor Barry Jackson, Pro Vice-Chancellor and Director of Learning & Teaching at Middlesex University - quality management and assessment. • Professor Paul Luker, Pro Vice-Chancellor at the University of Bournemouth -quality management and internationalisation. • Professor Chris Park, Director of the Graduate School, Lancaster University – postgraduate agenda • Professor Graeme Roberts, former Vice-Principal of Teaching & Learning at the University of Aberdeen - work in Scotland

Academy Update – NTFS NTFS The National Teaching Fellowship Scheme • Individual Awards (50 individual awards of £10,000) • Deadline was in April (200+ bids) – Outcome July • Projects – awards up to £200k • Bidding is a two-stage process • At least one member of bidding team must be a NTF • Initial invitation to bid opens in September • Individual award winners from 2006 can participate
