ABOUT US • Heavner canoe provides canoeing and kayaking trips, instruction in areas like Proud lake,Kensington metropark,Newburgh lake and overnight camping on the Huron River in Southeast Michigan. • We are expanding and we are hiring for days, evenings and weekends. • A Recreation Passport is required for entry into all Michigan state parks and recreation areas.

  3. KAYAKING KAYAKING INSTRUCTION : We offer instruction for every level. These are suggested guidelines for our lessons, however, our instructor will customize the lesson to your needs. • Option 1 - An introduction to Kayaking Agenda : This class is taught both on land and in the water. The focus will be on safety and stroke technique. • Option 2 – Self and assisted rescues Agenda : This class focuses on the wet exit and self and assisted re-entries and is offered both during the season and throughout the winter months.

  5. RIVER HAWK The River Hawk Complex serves as a functional, comfortable modern base for a wide variety of recreational pursuits. This includes hunting, over 20 miles of hiking trails (including a primeval stand of Beech trees), fishing, canoeing and kayaking, educational programs and meeting facilities.
