  1. QuestionstoaskyourSparkiebeforehiring Have you felt dissatisfied with electrical work in the past? Or perhaps felt uneasy with the quality of electrical maintenance to your home? Sadly, there are a lot of unlicensed tradesman around, and untrained sparkies can be seriously dangerous when put to the tools. Becoming a licensed A grade electrician takes 4 years in Victoria, and involves a supervised apprenticeship in conjunction with trade school and a number of exams that test quality of work. Without this practical and theoretical knowledge, an unlicensed electrician is likely to put you at risk of electric shock. This is the most important question to ask your Sparkie. While an unlicensed electrician may cut down on cost, you are also cutting corners on safety. To check licensing, ask your Doncaster Electrician for their A grade license or Registered Electrical Contractor’s license. Alternatively, if you’re feeling suspicious, look up ‘Find A Tradie’ on the Energy Safe Victoria page to check your tradesman is listed as a licensed electrical contractor. See link. ARE YOU INSURED? As a part of life, things can sometimes go wrong. 2. The last thing you want to do is clean up after their mess. It’s important to know that if an accident occurs you will NOT be liable. WHO WILL BE DOING THE WORK? Depending on who you hire, your electrical service provider may send out a subcontractor to do the work. It’s important to check that while this electrician may be subcontracted under a licensed company that advertises quality craftsmanship, are they themselves qualified and do they have their own insurance. To ensure continuity of quality with our electrical servicing, Heaven Sent Electrical does not subcontract, A-grade Doncaster electricians and apprentices will be on the job. and ensures only licensed
