  3. B. Annual Motions - The seasons of the year are the result of the Earth’s tilt on its axis. 1. Solstices – points in the Earth’s orbit with the greatest amount of tilt toward the sun. Summer Solstice – June 20th or 21st Winter Solstice – December 21st or 22nd
