  1. The People Who Care

  2. Joint families are a rare occurrence these days but they can be a lot of fun to be a part of one. This is the story of one such family.

  3. Gaurav Kumar, a young professional in his mid-twenties, is the heart and soul of his family. He is the one who is always pulling everyone’s legs and cracking jokes at the dinner table; he is the one who ensures everyone has a surprise birthday celebration at midnight; he brings home treats every other day – needless to say, he is always putting a smile on everyone’s face. His parents, grand-parents, uncle and aunt all dote on him, and all the younger kids in the house really look up to Gaurav bhaiyya.

  4. Unfortunately, Gaurav, in spite of his endearing habits, also had two vices – smoking and drinking. He was a chain smoker and most of the parties he attended involved heavy drinking. This lifestyle led to a cardiac arrest during one night of crazy dancing, and at this young age, Gaurav found himself in the confines of a hospital bed. He had to undergo a minor surgery and doctors recommended a lengthy period of bed rest and monitoring, while remaining in an Intensive Care Unit.

  5. Gaurav’s family badly missed his presence at home. Each one of his family members was significantly saddened. The dinner table had a sombre atmosphere. The life of the family was missing, and although they did get to see Gaurav twice during the day, the daily hospital visiting hours seemed too short and painful.

  6. Mr. Vinay Kumar, Gaurav’s father, was wondering if there was any way they could have Gaurav recuperating at home. He wondered if a complex set-up, like that of an ICU, could be done at home. Mr. Kumar decided to do a quick web search on ‘ICU services at home’, and this resulted in him coming across HealthCare atHOME.

  7. He found out that he could actually get the exact requirements, specific to Gaurav’s condition, set up at home. A quick call on the helpline and in a couple of days’ time Gaurav was being transferred home to complete his recuperation.

  8. This incident changed Gaurav. He improved his lifestyle furthermore, and was thankful that at least, due to the availability of home healthcare services, he was able to get better happily, surrounded by the people who cared about him. As for the Kumar’s, the re-united family couldn’t be happier.

  9. There are many like Gaurav and his family who have benefited from home healthcare services. To know more about the services offered by HealthCare atHOME India. www.healthcareathomeindia.com
