3. Shoper 9 LiveUpdate • Used to update Shoper 9 with available patch • A patch may include: • Fixes for known bugs • Enhancements to the existing features • Additional features • Live update can be done anytime after Shoper 9 installation

4. Live Update Activity • Downloading the files (patch) for update • Updating Shoper 9 with the downloaded patch • Shoper 9 LiveUpdate can be used for updating your installation with • Default application patch • Customised patch • The patch downloads can be from multiple locations • Downloads can be scheduled

5. Shoper 9 LiveUpdate - Utility • Shoper 9 LiveUpdate utility • To be installed in order to download and update patches • Gets installed during Shoper 9 HO/ POS installation • Can be installed on a machine with or without Shoper 9 installation • Installing Shoper 9 LiveUpdate utility will create two exes on your machine, ShoperLU.exe (for Downloading the patch) and ShoperPU.exe (for updating the patch) • The icons ShoperPatchDownloader and ShoperPatchUpdater will be created on the desktop • Shoper 9 LiveUpdate engine will be self updated during downloading the patch

6. Download • Double click ShoperPatchDownloader icon • Select the product • Click Download Patches for the selected product will be downloaded

7. Update Patch • To update Shoper 9, you need to login as a user with administrator privileges in Windows • Double click ShoperPatchUpdater icon • Select the product • Click Update

8. Update Patch • The list of activities will be ticked as and when the steps are completed. Once all the activities are ticked, LiveUpdate completed successfully message is displayed. • Click Close. • To view the updation status details, click View Log.

9. Verifications of log files • Click View Log Or • Open Shoperupdate.log in Shoper 9 application folder and check the log entry for • exes and dlls • scripts

10. Configuring the Utility To change the download to location, • Double click ShoperPatchDownloader icon • Click Settings If the product selected is Shoper 9 POS,

11. Configuring the Utility The Shoper 9 POS LiveUpdate Settings window is displayed Displays the default location from where the files have to be downloaded • Set Download To field • Click Save The specified download from and to locations will be saved

12. Configuring the Utility To add a Download Location, • Click Add • Enter the Location Name • Select FTP or HTTP in Download Using

13. Configuring the Utility If you have selected HTTP • Enter the HTTP Address and the Port • Click Save

14. Configuring the Utility If you have selected FTP • Enter the FTP Address, Port, User Name, Password and confirm the password • Click Save

15. Configuring the Utility To Schedule download • Click Schedule • Enter Starting Date • Enter Starting Time

16. Configuring the Utility • Enter Frequency of Download • Enter Windows User Name • Enter Password • Click OK • Click Turn Off, to turn off the scheduled activity

Guidelines and best practices • Ensure you download and install the latest LiveUpdate engine • Always use the downloader to download the patches, so that Shoper 9 LiveUpdate engine gets updated automatically • Ensure all Shoper 9 applications and connected clients are closed • Ensure database connectivity is available • Ensure POS Agent is closed during the LiveUpdate process • Compare and check the updated patch and the downloaded patch versions
