  2. ScrAPES book due dates: • Fall Semester • Oct 22 and Dec 10 • Spring Semester • Feb 25 and April 22

  4. Find 9 articles relating to Environmental Science from newspapers or magazines. The article should relate to a topic that are currently studying or will be studying soon. Refer to the topic outline to guide your selection. • Articles from websites are appropriate if they are from a newspaper or magazine website. The library at MHS has several magazines, newspapers in addition to online resources. • If you have questions about an article please bring it in for my approval.

  5. Write a critical summary of each article. • Summaries should include questions, concerns or insight into how the article relates to what you are studying in class. • In addition, try to evaluate the bias of the author. I will use the MHS Writing Rubric when grading the summary.

  6. Articles should be neatly cut out or copied. Cut articles should be glued to construction paper. • The scrapes book should be displayed in a 3 ring binder. • The original article should face the summary. Summaries must be typed.

  7. Include a typed Table of Contents page at the beginning of the book, in which you number the articles, list the title, source and date of each article. • All articles and summaries should be kept in the ScrAPES book for the year. Your final book should have 40 articles and summaries.
