Summary of TC227 Mirror Group Meeting: CPD Implementation & State of the Art in Nordic Countries

Recap of discussions on CPD implementation of standards and CE-Marking in Nordic countries. Norway, Sweden, Finland, and Denmark initiated implementation process. Iceland has yet to start. Translation of standards and technical aspects carried out. CE-Marking voluntary in Finland, Sweden, Norway; obligatory in Denmark. Updates on TC227's mandate proposal, Frost heave questionnaire deadline, content specifications in EN standards, and importance of functional requirements in next EN-generation. Discussions on EN 13286-2 validity for subgrade, dangerous substances, TC351 liaison with TC154/TC227, and new Nordic Project presented. Coordination meetings and contact list of Nordic delegates shared.

CPD implementation of standards and CE-Marking,State of the art in the nordic countries • Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark: Started implementation proces to be ready Jan 2008. • Iceland has not as yet started the proces. • All Countries translates Language vise (at least test methods) and technically. • CE-Marking Volantary in Finland,Sweden and Norway,Obligatory in Denmark.

  4. The EN 13242/EN13285 co-existence • TC 227 has decided to ask for a mandate for Unbound and/or Hydraulically bound Mixtures (extention of M124)

  5. Detailed questions of different TC 227standards • Frost heave questionary with deadline today. • D schould include 125mm in both EN13242 and EN 13285 (EN 933-1) • Mica content important • Important that functional requirements are included in next EN-generation • EN 13286-2 should be valid for subgrade.

  6. Dangerous substances • General information about TC351 • Liaison between TC351 and TC154/TC227 • New Nordic Project presented by Harpa Birgisdottir.

  7. Nordic cooperation within TC227/TC154 Buttom-up • Contact list of Nordic delegates to CEN • Coordination meetings between Nordic countries imidiately before CEN-meetings Top-down • Formal Nordic meetings to look into the future (politics,research etc.)
