  13. AFIR Quo Vadis ?

  14. Topics for discussion If actuaries do not become and continue to be actively involved in asset risks, the prominent role they have played in pensions and reinsurance for over a century will soon be history

  15. Topics for discussion The increasing attention for risks in industries other than pensions and insurance and the tendency to manage and insure those risks in alternative ways is a challenge to actuaries. It is in these areas that actuaries can play a significant role. They can and should broaden their scope to become risk officers in a far more general sense

  16. Topics for discussion In order to maintain their prominent position (sub 1) and achieve their involvement elsewhere (sub 2), they will need to expand the educational programs

  17. Topics for discussion Although uniformity in this respect is a Utopia, AFIR International can and should play an initiating and leading role and should liaise with the Educational Committees of the IAA and the Groupe Consultatif
