  1. 8.2 Systems of Equations in Three VariablesDay 1 Do Now Solve the system

  2. Linear Systems in Three Variables • Since there are three variables, there will also be three equations. • The goal here is to take 2 pairs of equations and eliminate the same variable, leaving you with a system of equations in 2 variables

  5. Ex • Moira inherited $15,000 and invested part of it in a money market account, part in municipal bonds, and part in a mutual fund. After 1 year, she received a total of $730 interest from the three investments. The money market account paid 4% annually, the bonds paid 5% annually, and the mutual fund paid 6% annually. There was $2000 more invested in the mutual fund than in bonds. Find the amount that Moira invested in each category.

  6. Ex • Make a quadratic function using the data (0, 133), (1,179), and (2,173)

  7. Closure • Solve • HW: p.699 #1-23 odds

  8. 8.2 Systems of Equations in 3 VariablesDay 2 • Solve

  9. HW Review: p.699 #1-23 odds

  10. Closure • What is different about solving systems with 3 variables vs systems with 2 variables? • HW: none
