As user manuals evolve, understanding their impact on technology adoption is crucial. In a study, 66% of users do not refer to manuals for new features, opting instead for online resources or friends. With a preference for pictorial instructions (81%), it's clear that clear and engaging manuals can bridge the usability gap for complex features like updating firmware. Prototyping efforts led to a significant increase in task success and user satisfaction. Investing in high-quality manuals is essential for maximizing user engagement and driving revenue.
