Stuck In A Moment

I'm not afraid of anything in this world There's nothing you can throw at me

that I haven't already heard

You've got to get yourself together You've got stuck in a moment

and now you can't get out of it Don't say that later will be better Now you're stuck in a moment

and you can't get out of it

afraid / get yourself together/get out / later

slide29

Listen to the rest of the song.

Underline the words that you hear.

colors/fool /worry/amazing/

tough/enough/together/ beautiful /

stuck/moment/ now/asleep/ down/

later/ better /talented/ night/ day /

wonderful/

Words not in the song:

1. 2.

3. 4.

slide30

Look at this fan letter:

Dear U2,

I wanted to tell you how much I

loved the song “Stuck in a Moment”.

It describes exactly how I feel. I,

too, feel like I am stuck in my life.

I am twenty-two years old and I

have been feeling numb since I finished high school and the army. I have no ambition and everybody is calling me dumb. But your song showed me that I can get myself together.

This bad time will pass.

Thank you,

Tomer Plumb

slide31

Sometimes, when the letters “m” and “b” come together, the “b” is silent.

For example, we saw in the letter the word “numb”. When you say that word, you don’t say the “b”.

Let’s look at the letter again and find two more examples of words with the silent “b”.
