Why Join KDP? • Expand your professional knowledge • Engage in personal growth • Meet other education majors • Build your resume • Listen to professionals speak on valuable topics • Prepare for interviewing situations • Network with professionals • Earn Awards and Recognitions: • Merit Award • Honor Cords for Graduation • Scholarships

How To Join KDP Who is eligible?? • Sophomores, juniors, and seniors, and graduate students • All education majors from all programs at Purdue are eligible to join • Undergraduates must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher, and graduate students must have a GPA of 3.25 or higher. • You must be in the process of applying to the Teacher Education Program.

How to Join KDP What you must do! • Point system- earn 8 points throughout the semester • Attend organization meetings • If cannot attend for legitimate reason email Francesca Bevente at fbevente@purdue.edu • Turn in Service Project Proposal by April 9th meeting (example will be on KDP website) • Community Service • Sign document stating that you agree to GPA requirements and turn in by December 7th meeting (available on KDP website) • Pay Dues

  5. Service Projects and Meetings Service Projects for 2014 Fall Semester • Making blankets for CASA • Project Citizen Meetings • Classroom Management • Principal panel • Social Work • LGBTQ panel

  6. Dues • National Dues- Goes to National Chapter for membership • I year membership $42/ 2 year membership $78 • Pay online (link at Purdue KDP website) • Local Dues- Goes to Purdue KDP Chapter for membership • $20 • Write a check to Purdue Kappa Delta Pi or pay cash • One time Initiation Fee- Pays for Initiation material and food • $16 • Write a check to Purdue Kappa Delta Pi or pay cash • Can combine with local dues for a $36 check or cash • ALL DUES DUE BY DEC 7th ONLINE AND HANDED IN!

  7. Service Project Proposal • Due by December 7th • One way to earn a point • Outline of Service Project KDP could so the following semester • Outline on Purdue KDP website • Must be typed
