Organism FunFact! BlackSquirrel Sense the forests were so dense in Michigan than squirrels adapted by turning there fur to a shade of black so they could hide from predators in the dark forests. If you tell some people that you’ve seen a black squirrel then they’ll think your color blind, but I assure you that your not.

  4. Population Black Squirrel If you have never seen a black squirrel then just look where you would find regular squirrels. I have seen some at St. Joe high school. Fun Fact! What’s Population? Black squirrels are actually eastern gray squirrels. Just have adapted by making there fur black. Population is a group of the same species living in the same area.

  5. Community What’s a community? Fun Fact! A community is all the biotic things that interact with each other. NO abiotic things! The black squirrel is Harvard College’s mascot. This is because there black fur helps them maintain body heat.
