  1. My visit to Winchester Science Centre

  2. This is a photo of the outside of the Winchester Science Centre building. • The white dome is the planetarium. • I am going to visit Winchester Science Centre.

  3. There are 2 ways to come into Winchester Science Centre. • I can go up the steps to the main entrance. • I can go in through the special schools entrance.

  4. I will be met by • Allison • Vanessa • They are very friendly and are here to help me when I am at Winchester Science Centre. They wear pink t-shirts. • If I have a question when I am at Winchester Science Centre I can ask Vanessa or Allison or the people in the pink Winchester Science Centre t-shirts.

  5. When I arrive at Winchester Science Centre Vanessa or Allison will take me to the cloakroom. I can leave my bag on the shelves that have my school name on and my coat on the coat rack, they will be safe there.

  6. I will then sit at the blue tables in the dining room so that Vanessa or Allison can tell me where things are at Winchester Science Centre and where I can have my lunch with my class.

  7. Winchester Science Centre is a busy place. There might be lots of other children at Winchester Science Centre when I visit. It might be very noisy when I visit. • If I don’t like the noise I can tell my teacher. They will take me somewhere quiet. • I must not leave the area where my group is unless my teacher says I can. This is so adults know where I am and I am safe.

  8. If I don’t know where my group is I can ask at the main desk where Gina works. • To get to the main desk I will have to go through the access gate.

  9. There are lots of fun things for me to see and do at Winchester Science Centre. • Downstairs there are lots of activities about light that I can do. This photo shows some of the activities I can do here. • If I don’t know what to do I can ask my teacher. • I won’t get into trouble if I make a mistake.

  10. This is a photo of the upstairs area. • Here I can find the ‘Move it’ exhibit. I can have lots of fun making the green beads move round this exhibit.

  11. I might visit the shop if I have some money with me. There are lots of things that I can buy. I can pay at the main desk where Gina works.

  12. This is a photo of where I will stand to wait for the planetarium show. • This is the inside of the planetarium. When I walk in I will be able to see coloured lights around the wall that change colour. It gets a bit dark. If I don’t like it I can tell my teachers and they will take me somewhere else.  • This is where I will see a show about space.

  13. When it is time to go home I will collect my belongings and wait with my teacher until Vanessa tells us our bus is waiting for us. • We will then leave Winchester Science Centre and get on our bus.
