OGSA Airport Pickup • In order to better assist you in your transition to life in Hoboken, Stevens Institute of Technology, offers free airport pickup for new graduate students! • Pickup Dates/Times: Approximately 7:15 pm EST at both EWR and JFK every day from Thursday, January 2 - Saturday, January 18, 2014 • Registration: Advanced registration is required for this service. Reservations must be made by December 20, 2013. Airport Pick Up Form • Additional Travel Options: Students who do not use the Stevens Airport Pick Up Service must arrange for their own transportation from the airport.  • For more information on the Airport Pickup Service and/or traveling independently from the airport to Hoboken, visit the Arrival page of our website: http://gradlife.stevens.edu/Arrival

  4. OGSA Temporary Housing • Stevens Institute of Technology offers temporary housing for new Stevens students for a small fee. Students will stay in a local hotel that is approximately one mile from campus.  • Room Details and Rates: Please visit http://gradlife.stevens.edu/temporary_housing • Dates and Deadlines: • Students must register by Friday, December 20, 2013.  • Temporary Housing will be available from Thursday, January 2 - Friday, January 18. Students can stay in temporary housing for a minimum of 5 nights to a maximum of 14 nights. • Registration: • If you would like to take advantage of Stevens temporary housing, please fill out the Temporary Housing Formthat is available on our website.

OGSA Orientation – January 9 & 10, 2014 • All new graduate students are required to attend Orientation. • Check-in with International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) • Attend a mandatory presentation about visa compliance. • Check-in with Graduate Admissions • Submit health forms • Get Stevens ID • Meet with academic adviser • Register for classes • For more information, visit http://gradlife.stevens.edu/orientation

  7. Services and Resources Permanent Housing Options If you want to find housing through the university, you can apply to live in one of the many Stevens leased housing locations. Stevens leases off-campus apartments in many buildings around Hoboken. If you want to find housing independently, you can work with a real estate company or an apartment listing service. Services and Resources Student Health Insurance • All students are automatically enrolled in a health insurance plan through the university. • Fee is added to your student bill automatically • Policy runs August 18, 2013 – August 18, 2014 • For more information, visit: http://www.universityhealthplans.com/intro/Stevens.html If you have private health insurance and you want to decline the health insurance from Stevens, you must fill out a waiver form and provide proof of insurance by September13th,2013 This form is available online: https://www.universityhealthplans.com/secure/waiver.cgi?school_id=136 Student Health Services staff can answer questions about U.S. health insurance.

Services and Resources Student Health Services • Student Health Center is free to all enrolled students • No appointment is necessary • Open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday 9:00 am-4:00 pm and Thursdays 9:00am-7:00pm • Nurse on duty full-time, physicians available: Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday 1:00-4:00pm, Thursdays 4:00-7:00pm and Fridays 1:30-3:30pm • Submit your Student Health & Immunization Record here as soon as possible • Failure to do this can impact your enrollment!

Services and Resources International Student & Scholar Services • Responsible for all international student and scholar immigration-related matters, including the issuance and/or processing of: • Form I-20, F-1 visa • DS-2019, J-1 visa (students and scholars) • H-1B applications for temporary worker in a specialty occupation • University-sponsored LPR applications • Employment authorization documents • Provides educational workshops, information, and services in support of these regulations. 5th Floor of Howe Center 201-216-5189 Monday-Friday 9:00-5:00 http://www.stevens.edu/sit/isss

Services and Resources Financial Aid – Full Time Students • Full-time graduate students are eligible for scholarships and graduate assistantships • Assistantships offer students the opportunity to teach or conduct research with Stevens faculty members while offering tuition support and a stipend for living expenses • Students interested in assistantships should contact the Department in which they plan to study • Funding for many assistantships is made available by research grants secured by Stevens’ faculty

Student Life Graduate Enrichment Series • Certificate program designed to help students develop outside of the classroom, both personally and professionally • Available to all graduate students at no additional charge • Led by faculty and staff from numerous departments and offices around campus and cover a wide variety of topics.  • Students who attend a minimum of 15 sessions will receive a Certificate of Completion • Students may request a Co-Curricular Transcript detailing the sessions that they attended.
