Overview • Anne Baxter Quote • Before my shift • The change • After my shift • Adapted strategies • Conclusion
Anne Baxter • “It’s best to have failure happen early in life. It wakes up the Phoenix bird in you, so you ride from the ashes” • “Ashes Quote”. Anne Baxter. Brainy Quotes, n.d. Web. 12 Feb. 2013.
Before • I took my life for granted • I took the lives of my closest family and friends for granted • I never realized how important Lauren was to me before her accident
The Change • When I thought I might lose Lauren my life flashed before my eyes, and I realized I was not cherishing life like I should • My parents became scared of losing me, and in return became more overbearing.
After • I always tell people close to me that I love them no matter how silly the situation. • I go out of my way to help strangers and show random acts of kindness • I am now terrified of losing anyone close to me
Strategies of Communication • I now verbally tell those around me how I feel any chance I get • I also physically show my love more to those close to me with hugs, kisses, gifts, etc.
Conclusion • Those around me in my life have seen that I have become a more caring and compassionate person. • Some laugh because I over accentuate how much I care about my loved ones even at the most awkward times.
