  3. Our Role To promote access to quality health care for the medically underserved and uninsured residents of Florida through the commitment of volunteers.

Volunteer Health Care Provider Program (VHCPP) • Established under s. 766.1115, F.S. “Access to Health Care Act”; • Designates provider an “agent of thestate”; • Affords sovereign immunity protection for uncompensated care; • Provides services to clients determined eligible and referred by DOH.

  5. 2007-2008 Volunteer Health Care Provider Program Contributions • 169 organizations; • 10,410 licensed health care providers; • 304,432 patient encounters; • $137.7 million total value of goods and services.
