Search String Tips • Use at least 4 or 5 key words (with plus signs between for internet or AND with cd-roms) • Use quotes around proper nouns like names and events and places • Use quotes around specific statements you believe will lead to correct type of documents like “ violence against women in television” • Use .edu or .gov as part of the search string if you only allow use of those websites on school research papers
