  2. What is Health? Health IS the study of the body, how it works, the problems with it, and how we care for it.

  3. All Aspects of Health! Physical Mental Social Health also covers the social and mental/ emotional aspects of your well-being.

Staying Physically Healthy • With a partner take 2-3 minutes to develop ways that we can stay Physically Healthy. • Eat Healthy • Get the proper amount of exercise • Getting enough sleep • Regular check ups with the doctor AND dentist • Avoiding tobacco, alcohol, and drugs • Abstaining from high risk behaviors

Staying Mentally/Emotionally Healthy • With a partner take 2-3 minutes to develop ways that we can stay Mentally/Emotionally Healthy. • Finding ways to express feelings in a healthy manner • Keeping a positive attitude about challenges • Keeping family and friends close, and communicating with them

  7. Over Coming Challenges Cont. This actor from a small town in Missouri worked in advertising wearing a chicken suit for a fast food restaurant. Brad Pitt This basketball star was originally cut from his high school basketball team. Michael Jordan "I have missed more than 9,000 shots in my career. I have lost almost 300 games. On 26 occasions I have been entrusted to take the game winning shot, and I missed. I have failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed."

  8. Staying Socially Healthy With a partner take 2-3 minutes to develop ways that we can stay Socially Healthy. Keeping a positive attitude Surrounding yourself with GOOD friends Have RESPECT for your self and for others Learning to communicate in a positive way

  9. Achieving a Healthy Balance • The goal of many people is to have a all aspects of the health triangle balanced. • When all sides of the health triangle are balanced then a person has a state of wellness • Wellness is a state of well-being, or total health.
